Barry Earl Kehl, 62, died peacefully while surrounded by his family on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at his home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born Sept. 24, 1947, in Johnstown, Pa., he is the son of Phyllis J. (McKinley) Barbour of Inwood, W.Va., and the late Eugene A. Kehl. His stepfather, Jerry Barbour, preceded him in death.

Mr. Kehl was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War.

He worked for 40 years as a self-employed autobody mechanic. He also was employed with the Frederick County school system for five years and worked the last two and one half years at the Lowe's in Martinsburg, W.Va.


In addition to his mother, Barry is survived by his wife, Linda (Shannon) Kehl; his stepchildren, Brandon and Shannon Kellerman; two sisters, Naomi Hartle and Darlene Parker; and his brother, Gene Kehl. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.

An interment ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 N. Market St., Frederick, Md.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at The Good Shepherd Ministries, 19763 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown, Md. The Rev. Steven S. McCullough will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742; or to the family c/o Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home.
