Hagerstown Municipal Band holiday concert

Hagerstown Municipal Band presents its second annual holiday concert in Hagerstown, "Carol for Cans," at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

The event is part of the holiday music program at Trinity Lutheran Church, 15 Randolph Ave., off of North Potomac Street, as part of a benefit concert for the Food Bank.

The concert is free, but patrons are asked to bring canned and other non-perishable foods or unwrapped toys to the concert.

The doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the concert will take place in the church's sanctuary.

Williamsport high school band winter concert

The Williamsport Blue Band's annual winter concert will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, in the auditorium at the high school. Tickets cost $5, or $2 with a donation for the food bank.


Tickets are available from band students and will be available at the door. The food collected will be given to the local food bank.

Snow date for the concert is Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Art show with a summer theme

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -The Franklin County Historical Society plans to join in the festivities of the "Summer on Ice" theme of IceFest 2010, with an art show titled "Summer in Winter at the Old Jail." The exhibit will run Jan. 29 through Feb. 27.

Artists are invited to deliver paintings with a summer theme to Chambersburg's Old Jail, 175 East King St., Tuesday, Jan. 26, and Wednesday Jan. 27, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. There is no entry fee, and artists ages 14 and older may enter.

"Summer in Winter at the Old Jail" will feature an IceFest reception on Sunday, Jan. 31, from 2 to 4 p.m.
