C-SPAN bus a civics classroom on wheels

December 11, 2009

HAGERSTOWN - The C-SPAN Civics Bus and crew stopped at South Hagerstown High School on Thursday, part of a two-day visit to the area.

It will be at Washington County Technical High School from 9 to 10:45 a.m. today, and at Frostburg State University from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Since 1993, the bus has helped the public learn about C-SPAN's programming.

At the high schools, the students will also learn about C-SPAN's 2010 StudentCam documentary film competition, which encourages students to create short issue-oriented films.

This year's themes are "One of our country's greatest strengths" or "A challenge the country is facing."
