MSD shuts down Hancock girls

FREDERICK, Md. -- Maureen Leavy had a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds on Wednesday but Hancock dropped a 49-44 decision to Maryland Scool for the Deaf.

Briana Swisher had 14 points and four steals and Jenna Hull had eight rebounds for the Panthers (2-1).

Nichole Henderson had 13 points, Nikki Carinelli had 12 points and Meghan Stambaugh had 11 points for the Applemen (1-0).

Taylor Riley had 18 points to lead the Blue Storm (0-2).

Musselman outscored Mercersburg 36-7 in the first half.

BOONSBORO -- Massie McCormack scored 10 of her game-high 25 points in the first quarter on Tuesday to lead Liberty over Boonsboro.

The Lions jumped out to a 24-15 lead in the first quarter and were never threatened. Boonsboro closed to within four points on a number of occasions, but never could get closer.

Kelly McCormack added 10 points for Liberty.

Kara Nettleton led Boonsboro (1-1) with 15 points while Morgan Tucker had six rebounds and three steals.

Nick Jackson added 19 points and Jack Taylor had nine points for the Blue Storm (2-2), which went on a 17-3 second-quarter run.
