Ornaments, burros

Complete your Christmas shopping list at the Williamsport Town Hall. A limited quantity of 3-inch, etched-glass ornaments, handcrafted by Yemi Glass Art of Frederick, Md., are available for $15 each. Choose from two seasonal scenes of the aqueduct. This is a first edition in a continuing series each year. Gift box is included.

Burros of the canal, child-safe stuffed animals that symbolize Williamsport heritage, are on sale for $12.95 each.

The ornaments and burros are available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Town Hall, and every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Town Museum. They also will be available at the old-time Christmas market on Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Springfield Farm Barn in Byron Memorial Park, in conjunction with the "Charlie Brown Christmas" event. The market will feature baked goods, candies, real Christmas trees, garlands and wreaths.

Tree of Love at Homewood

A Tree of Love has been set up in the lobby of the Health Care Center at Homewood. Donations will place a cardinal on the tree to honor someone or a dove in memory of someone. Checks should be made payable to Homewood Auxiliary and mailed to 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, MD 21795. Proceeds will benefit the Benevolent Fund.

Potomac Garden Club

The Potomac Garden Club will celebrate its annual Christmas luncheon, "Remember Christmases of the Past," on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at The Purple Iris at Hartwood Mansion in Martinsburg, W.Va. Members who wish to carpool may meet at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m.

Food bank needs help

The Williamsport Food Bank is in need of food, grocery store gift cards, toys and department store gift cards for needy children ages 16 and younger in the Williamsport area for Christmas. Items should be dropped off at the secretary's office at Zion Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St., Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or Friday, 9 a.m. to noon. All items should be unwrapped.

Blue Band winter concert

The Williamsport Blue Band will hold its annual winter concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the WHS auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door. The band will be collecting nonperishable foods for the local food bank.
