Breakfast with Santa
planned at Valley Mall

Visit Garfield's Restaurant & Pub at Valley Mall on Saturday, Dec. 12, for breakfast with the Jolly Old Fella himself. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 9:15 am until 10:15 a.m. Tickets cost $5 and must be purchased in advance. Tickets will not be available the day of the event. Please contact the mall customer service center at 301-582-0700 for more information.

Pet photos to be taken
with Santa at the mall

Grab your four-legged family friend and head out to Valley Mall Sunday, Dec. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. to pose with Santa Claus. Those bringing pets in for photos are asked to use the center mall entrance next to Garfield's Restaurant & Pub and proceed to Center Court. Pets may not enter the mall before noted time. All animals must be on a leash, in a cage or carrier, or held by the owner at all times. Please be prepared to clean up after your pet if necessary. Donations will be accepted for the Humane Society of Washington County.


Hickory Elementary students
get Character Counts! recognition

Students at Hickory were honored on Monday, Nov. 23, with a celebration assembly for demonstrating six pillars of character. Students who received this award were nominated in the month of November for displaying the character trait of Citizenship. The following students and their parents and guardians were honored at the assembly: Jaydan Baker, Will Baker, Malayia Brady, Jordan Bussard, Jackson Carrazco, Grace Caudell, Kade Eichelberger, Moo Moo Eketah, Sydney Gardner, Brittney McKee, Jimy Mohamad, Tayler Richards, Zach Saum, John Seredich, Donnie Travis and Owen Wood.

South Hagerstown High PTA meeting

The South Hagerstown PTA will meet tonight at 6. The PTA will meet in the school media center. All are invited to attend.

Homewood to display tree
in honor of loved ones

A Tree of Love has been set up in the lobby at Homewood Health Care Center in Williamsport. By submitting a donation, a cardinal will be placed on the tree to honor someone, or a dove in memory of someone. Those interested in making a donation may send checks made payable to Homewood Auxiliary. Donations can be mailed to: 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, MD 21795. Proceeds will benefit the Benevolent Fund at Homewood. The Tree of Love will be set up for display through Christmas Day.

'Twas the Night program at City Park

'Twas the Night Before, What?! program will be held at the Jonathan Hager House and Museum tonight at 7. Get a chance to learn about what other holidays besides Christmas have been historically celebrated in the winter months. A lecture and slide show are planned. This event is free.
