Hagerstown man dies after accident in Conn.

WATERFORD, Conn. -- A Hagerstown man died Monday after the car in which he was a passenger crashed on Conn. 85 in the town of Waterford, according to the Waterford Police Department.

Robert M. Rowe, 22, who had addresses in New London, Conn., and in Hagerstown's West End, died after he was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital after the accident, according to Waterford Police.

Police did not know which was Rowe's current address.

A 1994 Nissan Sentra driven by Roy H. Colburn, 24, of 144 Montauk Ave. in New London, crashed at 3:44 p.m. Monday on northbound Conn. 85 in the area of Lake Konomoc reservoir, according to police news releases.

Waterford is in southeastern Connecticut.

Colburn was taken by Lifestar helicopter to Hartford Hospital, where he was in critical condition Tuesday morning, police said.

Police were investigating the accident.
