Residents' Christmas bazaar at Coffman home

A residents' Christmas bazaar will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Coffman Nursing Home, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

Includes homemade and donated items. Proceeds benefit the home's activity department.

Stroke and osteoporosis screening is Dec. 14

Residents living in and around Hagerstown can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. The Hagerstown Seventh-Day Adventist Church will host Life Line Screenings on Monday, Dec. 14. The site is at 11507 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown. Appointments will begin at 9 a.m.

Screenings identify potential cardiovascular conditions such as blocked arteries and irregular heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and hardening of the arteries in the legs.

A bone density screening to assess osteoporosis risk is also offered and is appropriate for both men and women.

Packages start at $139. The screenings take 60 to 90 minutes to complete. Registration is required.

Brook Lane holiday wish list

During the holidays, Brook Lane seeks gifts from the community to help clients. The wish list can be found at

The wish list includes craft supplies, games, sports equipment, Christmas decorations, computers, computer programs, personal electronics devices, school supplies and clothes. The items will be used by our patients, students and residents.

Items can be new or gently used. Monetary donations are also helpful and will be used to purchase the needed items.
