Letters to the Editor

A good reply for an old line often whispered to young girls should be, "If you really love me, then you won't mind waiting." He can always walk away if he does not want to wait and it is a great test to see how true his words really are. There will always be another day, another guy and hopefully he will be ready for a lifetime of commitment.

Others might hurt us, for that is part of life, but we must be true to never hurt ourselves. This is the sum total of self-respect.

Stupak-Pitts violates the First Amendment

To the editor:

The Stupak-Pitts Amendment, which was added to the health care reform bill, violates the First Amendment provision for separation of church and state.

Other than religious concerns, there is no reason why the federal government should step in to regulate a medical and moral decision that properly belongs between a woman, her doctor and her conscience.
