Free special-needs yoga classes



SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Harmony Healing Arts Center offers a free yoga class for anyone who is ill or injured, or for elderly students who could benefit from doing yoga in a chair. The healing yoga class will also offer practices for those who can get up and down from a mat, either with or without assistance. Participants will learn to access full and deep breathing and will be guided only within their own limits with slow, gentle movements, which increase range of motion and overall energy levels. Holiday yoga classes



SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Shanti Saagar yoga teachers will offer a holiday session of classes on a pay-what-you-can (or nothing-at-all) basis. Nearly 30 classes of all levels are offered. No registration is necessary, and classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to find parking and assure space in the class. Donate blood for a chance to win NFL prize package



The 100-county Greater Alleghenies Region of American Red Cross Blood Services is offering an NFL Championship Game prize package as part of its upcoming Hope-Joy-Celebrate campaign during the holiday season.

Individuals who present to donate blood or platelets in the Greater Alleghenies Region through Jan. 10, are automatically entered into a drawing for a 2010 NFL Championship Game package for two, including game tickets, airfare and accommodations.

One winner will be drawn from among registered donors in the local blood region during this time period; drawing participants must also be at least 18 years of age, in compliance with state regulations. Go to www.redcrosslife.org.
