MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A shooting at a Sheetz convenience store in Martinsburg shortly after midnight Friday left a Ranson, W.Va., man injured, according to a news release from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies received a call of a shooting at Sheetz on Apple Harvest Drive around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, the release said.

When they arrived, they found Takouo Douai, 24, of Ranson, on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Martinsburg City Hospital for treatment, then transferred to Inova Fairfax (Va.) Hospital, the release said.

He was not listed as a patient at the hospital Saturday, a spokesperson there said.

Witnesses said two men believed to be involved in the shooting incident fled the scene in a burgundy sedan with Maryland license plates.

Anyone with information about the shooting may contact Sgt. Ted Snyder of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department at 304-267-7000.
