WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Harold W. "Bill" Brake Jr., 69, of Country Club Road, Waynesboro, Pa., passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at his home.

Born Aug. 28, 1940, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Harold W. Brake Sr. and Gertrude M. (Franklin) Brake.

He was a graduate of Waynesboro High School, class of 1959.

He was owner and operator of Brake Pontiac-Cadillac and Breakaway Lounge, both of Waynesboro, and was employed with Lynn Dealerships and Buchanan Automotive.


He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, Waynesboro Country Club, Elks Lodge 731, Eagles Club Inc., Owls Club Inc. and American Legion Post 15.

He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, golfing, and playing cards, and was an avid football fan of the Indianapolis Colts.

He is survived by his former wife, Carole Stover Brake of Waynesboro; daughter, Pam M. Brake Martin and husband Brian of Waynesboro; granddaughter, Skyy; sister, Beverly Brake Taylor of Vero Beach, Fla.; and two nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at 2 pm. at Green Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Cook officiating.

Friends may call Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg, Md.
