HANCOCK - Shelvy Jean McCusker, age 70, of Washington Street, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at the home of her sister, Delores Lucas of Lucas Road, Warfordsburg, Pa.

Born Jan. 11, 1939, in Washington County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Carl J. and Margaret Roman Flowers Mann; the stepdaughter of the late Espy Mann; and the widow of Harry William McCusker, who died May 8, 1997.

She was a 1957 graduate of Hancock High School.

She was retired from Londontown.

She was a member of the Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Ladies of Mount Olivet Church.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society Country Rosebuds.

She is survived by one daughter, Tammy Leach of Hancock, Md.; two sons, David McCusker of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Danny McCusker of Hancock, Md.; one sister, Delores Lucas of Warfordsburg, Pa.; three brothers, Carl Flowers and Belvie Mann, both of Hancock, Md., and Larry Mann of Great Cacapon, W.Va.; three grandsons, Bryan McCusker, Brendon McCusker and Jordan Leach, all of Hancock, Md. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Homer Flowers, Harold Flowers and Donald Mann.

A service will be held Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Philip Unger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Md., and at the church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
