Betty Virginia Perrin, 83, of Hagerstown, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at the Washington County Hospital.

Born April 26, 1926, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Faymon and Edna Catherine (Campbell) Shilling.

She was a member of Maugansville Bible Brethren Church.

She worked for over 30 years as a seamstress at Dorbey Sewing Center and retired as a bartender for several area restaurants in Hagerstown.

Betty served as president of the senior citizens at Potomac Towers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Perrin.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Penny K. Rowland of Smithsburg; three sons, Russell L. Judd of Bealeton, Va., John C. Judd of Talmege, Neb., and Larry T. Judd of Dickenson, Texas; three sisters, Lucille Livingston of Norfolk, Va., Dorothy Thomas of Hagerstown and Linda Findley of Clear Spring; a brother, Berkeley Shilling of Morgantown, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Shilling Jr. and Randall Shilling; as well as two sisters, Peggy Fritz and Ann Hose.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Sean Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Monday one hour before the service at the funeral home.
