December 04, 2009

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Waynesboro Police were looking Friday for a man they allege frightened two girls on their way home from school Thursday afternoon, forcing both to seek refuge.

Police said a man, described as Hispanic, approximately 25 to 35 years old and missing his left front tooth, approached both girls near Henicle's Market and Rotary Parking Lot. The man was wearing blue jacket with a gray hood, was between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighed about 200 pounds, police said.

The man made comments to the girls, telling them "you are coming with me," police said.

He also attempted to grab the second girl by the arm, Police Chief Mark King said.

Both girls were able to find refuge from the man, police said.

The first girl went into Henicle's Market for assistance and the second went to a nearby residence, police said.
