Church to host breakfast with Santa

On Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m., St. Mark's will host breakfast with Santa.

The church is at 601 Washington Ave. in Hagerstown.

Come learn about the real reason for the season and while you are there, enjoy a hot breakfast with Santa. Food, crafts, stories and games will be part of the morning activities. All youths and their families are invited.

Cookie walk planned at church

On Saturday, Dec. 12, First Christian Church at 1345 Potomac Ave. will host its annual cookie walk from 9 to 11 a.m.

Homemade cookies will be available for $3 a dozen to benefit Baby Basics of Greater Hagerstown Inc. Baby Basics provides diapers for those ages birth to age 3 for eligible families.


West Hagerstown Lions Club news

The West Hagerstown Lions Club will hold its pancake breakfast Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. at Girls Inc. at 626 Washington Ave. in Hagerstown.

The menu will include all-you-can-eat pancakes plus a serving of sausage or puddin', orange juice and coffee. Tickets cost $5 and pre-schoolers will be admitted free. Santa will visit with treats for the children. Members will also be selling their Christmas crafts during the breakfast and also at City Market.

In other news:

Members of the club will be wrapping packages at Borders on Dec. 6, 11, 13, 18 and 20. Club members were there Nov. 27 and 29, as well.

Club members rang The Salvation Army bell in front of Kmart on Nov. 28. Thanks to all who gave donations.

On Nov. 16, the West Hagerstown Lions Club hosted the regional zone meeting. It was nice to hear from our Lions friends about their upcoming activities.

On Monday, Dec. 7, the West Hagerstown Lions and the Longmeadow Lions will celebrate their annual Christmas dinner at Washington Square United Methodist Church. Each member is asked to bring two Christmas gifts to donate to The Salvation Army for needy children.

Senior citizens to meet Dec. 10

On Thursday, Dec. 10, the West End Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church on the corner of Winter and Church streets.

This month's meeting will include a prepared lunch by the church and Christmas carol singing.

Winter skate show

The Hagerstown Ice and Sports Complex will hold its annual winter skate show Saturday, Dec. 12, from 6-8 p.m. Tickets cost $5 in advance or $7 the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased between 4 and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday or during any one of the public skate sessions.

Skate with Santa will be during the 2 to 3:50 p.m. public skate session on Saturday, Dec. 19. Regular admission is $6 per person, which includes skate rental.
