December 03, 2009

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. -- Two Harpers Ferry churches are hosting a three-day revival slated to explore faith, justice and unity this weekend.

The revival is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. with a gathering reception today and continue through Sunday, with workshops, worship and meals at Saint John Lutheran Church and First Zion Baptist Church.

The Rev. Dr. Stephen Paul Bouman, executive director of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, is among a number of speakers expected to take part in the event.

The focus of ecumenical revival is to revitalize our past, renew our present and transform our future as a community and as a nation, according to a news release about the event.
