Shirley donates trees for city to use at holiday



Halfway area resident Vicky Shirley donated two blue spruce trees to the community in honor of the holiday season.

Shirley, a resident of Englewood Road, donated the 20-year-old trees to the City of Hagerstown for display downtown at Public Square and at City Park. Thank you, Vicky, for such a generous gift to the community for the holidays.

Mall to host musical performances



The Sound of the Season music performances and events kicked off this past week at Valley Mall. Performers will take the stage each Monday through Friday evening starting at 7; Saturdays at 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. Several area choir groups are scheduled to perform at the JCPenney Court at the mall. The performances are planned through Sunday, Dec. 20.

Lunch with Santa planned at mall



Lunch with Santa Claus is planned at Valley Mall on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Those ages 12 and younger are invited to have lunch with Santa. Tickets are limited. Tickets cost $5 per child. Those interested in attending may call guest services at 301-582-0700.

Christmas parade Friday in Williamsport



The Town of Williamsport will hold its annual Christmas parade and park lighting ceremony Friday at 7 p.m. The parade will begin at the water tower and conclude at Byron Memorial Park, where light refreshments will be served in the community building.
