Volunteers sought to help out in county elementary schools

December 03, 2009

The Washington County Commission on Aging is seeking volunteers to serve in elementary schools starting in January through its RSVP program.

RSVP is "An Invitation to Serve" for those 50 and older who want to help in local schools by tutoring, mentoring, doing clerical work or using computer or library skills.

The program now has 20 volunteers in 11 schools through a partnership with the Washington County Board of Education.

For more information, call Charlotte Levens, program coordinator, at 240-313-9139 (evenings) or e-mail crlevens@gmail.com.
