SMITHSBURG - Jeffrey Randall O'Connor, 64, of 11429 Orange Blossom Court, Smithsburg Md., surrounded by his wife, family and friends, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Thursday, March 1, 1945, in Altoona, Pa., he was the son of the late Irvin Joseph O'Connor and Betty Frances Beals O'Connor of Altoona.

He was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School and later graduated from Penn State University. He was employed by Potomac Edison/Allegheny Power for more than 30 years until his retirement. He was also involved in real estate for more than 30 years, and was the broker/owner of RE/MAX Achievers.

Jeff was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of The Good Shepherd Ministries in Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Elizabeth Grace "Peachy" O'Connor; two daughters, Lisa Lynn Rietmann of Hagerstown and Kristy Nicole Mason of Hagerstown; three sons, Donald Lee Rupp of Falling Waters, W.Va., Michael Carl Mann of Smithsburg and Anthony Alexander of Smithsburg; four sisters, Nancy E. Smith of Alexandria, Pa., Mary Louise Gibbons of Altoona, Sheri J. Danella of Altoona and Betsy E. Miller of Altoona; four grandchildren, Aaron, Alex, Brandon and Daylen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at 11 a.m. at The Good Shepherd Ministries, 19763 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Steven S. McCullough officiating.

Family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 3, at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Private interment will be at the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Md.
