MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Charles William "Charlie" Garber, 67, of Belview Drive, Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday Nov. 25, 2009, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 14, 1942, in Ore Hill, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles W. and Flossie A. (Oldham) Garber.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War.
He was employed by the Maryland Department of Corrections for six years at MCTC.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints and American Legion Post 202 Williamsport, Md.
He was a loving father and grandfather, and avid Lawrence Welk fan.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sharon A. (Martin) Garber, whom he married April 13, 1983; one son; three daughters; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Shirley Cunningham.
