Hancock High class of 1959 gathers for 50-year reunion

On Oct. 24, the Hancock High School class of 1959 held its 50-year reunion at Hancock American Legion.

The theme centered around the 1950s. The room was decorated in the school colors of blue and white. Pictures from the past and other memorabilia was displayed on tables.

Robert Myers and Bob Hendershot presided over the opening ceremonies. The dinner prayer was given by Bob Hendershot. A remembrance candle lighting by Ina M. Dyer Potter was held to honor the 15 deceased classmates.

After a buffet dinner, memory booklets and an engraved glass was presented to each classmate as a remembrance of the reunion.

Traveling the most distance was Grace Robinson Budd from South Carolina, Anne Smith from New Jersey and Jack Eddy from Ohio.

The class plans to meet in the fall of 2010 at Widmeyer Park in Hancock for a picnic.
