OAKTON, Va. - John Franklin Kline, 72, of Oakton, Va., and most recently of Keedysville, Md., died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village in Boonsboro, Md.
Born June 25, 1937, in Oakton, Va., to the late George Michael and Vahah Melinda Phillips Kline.
He graduated from Fairfax High School.
He retired in 1988 from Lorton Federal Prison in Lorton, Va.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1958.
He was a member of the Oakton Church of the Brethren in Oakton, Va.
John was an avid Civil War enthusiast and supported battlefield preservation.
Survivors include: Sister: Helen K. Potter and her late husband Ray of Keedysville, Md.; Sister: Vadah M. Barney and her husband Ray of Round Hill, Va.; Brother: Leonard P. Kline and his wife Carleen of Hardy, Va.; Brother-in-law: Carter Harrison of Stephenville, Texas; Sister-in-law: Rebecca Kline of Waldorf, Md.; Numerous nieces and nephews.
