Collecting toys

Local resident may donate new, wrapped toys to the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program may drop them off at the Edward Jones office of Benito Vattelana.

The office is in Stone House Square shopping center at 12818-E Shank Farm Way, off Leitersburg Pike north of Hagerstown. Residents may drop off toys during regular business hours through Friday, Dec. 11.

Christmas dinner

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Shepherdstown Fire Department will hold its annual free community Christmas dinner and open house from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6.

The fire department will provide a free dinner to all who attend as a gift for continued support of the organization. The special guest of the day will be Santa Claus.


There will be free gifts for all children.

Caregivers sought

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- Good Shepherd Caregivers will train volunteers from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Zion Episcopal Church Parish House, 221 E. Washington St.

Volunteers with Good Shepherd Caregivers provide nonmedical, neighborly assistance to elderly or disabled residents of Jefferson County, W.Va.
