Sharpsburg Library to present holiday music



Scott and Jennifer Silbert, Bob Sykes and others will present holiday music at Sharpsburg Library on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 301-432-8825.

Fire company to hold breakfast



Potomac Valley Fire Co. will hold an all-you-care-to-eat pancake and sausage breakfast with Santa Saturday, Dec. 5, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the fire hall. The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee, milk and juice for $5; children younger than 5 eat free. Remember to bring cameras to take pictures of Santa with your children.

Burker wins Legion raffle



American Legion Post 236's fall raffle was won by Sharpsburg resident Anna Lee Burker. The post would like to thank the community for its support. Funds raised from the raffle supports veteran projects and will buy oranges and candy canes for Sharpsburg Elementary School students and staff.

Post 236 will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Sharpsburg Ambulance hall. All veterans are welcome.

Fall train fest planned



The Hagerstown Model Railroad Museum Inc. will hold a fall train fest Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Washington county Agricultural Education Center on Sharpsburg Pike. This is a buy/sell/swap meet. Admission costs $4 for adults. Those younger than 12 are free.

Hot sandwiches and soups prepared by the Smithsburg Lions Club will be available.

The museum club will also hold an open house at the Sharpsburg Train Station on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.

BHS class of 1977 selling collectibles



The Boonsboro High School class of 1977 is selling "My Home Towne" collectibles of the old and new Boonsboro High School for $12. The collectibles are handmade, finely detailed, screen printed in full color, reproductions made from wood.

Ceramic hand-carved Indian Heads are available for $10.

Helen House to speak Tuesday at senior site



Helen House will speak on the topic "Celebrate the Value of Life" and conduct exercises Tuesday at the senior site on Mount Vernon Drive in Keedysville. Activities for seniors are provided daily at the senior site. For more information, call Martha Drennen at 301-432-5624.
