The Maryland Senior Prescription Drug Assistance Program (SPDAP) will host a free open enrollment workshop for senior citizens who are or might be eligible for Maryland Medicare prescription assistance.

The workshop will be Wednesday, Dec. 2, at The Plaza Hotel near Valley Mall.

The prescription drug assistance program is designed to help reduce the costs of Medicare Part D coverage for moderate-income seniors and disabled people.

During the workshop, representatives will provide one-on-one help to those attending, according to an e-mailed release from the drug assistance program.

Eligible Marylanders can receive assistance preparing the SPDAP applications and learn more about the available $1,200 "doughnut hole" subsidy and the $300 premium subsidy.
