Woerner honored by Lutheran Home Care

November 25, 2009

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Kellie Woerner recently received Lutheran Home Care & Hospice's 2009 Karen A. Rohaly Award at the agency's annual Employee Appreciation Dinner.

Woerner has been employed by the agency for 19 years. She is the office coordinator for the agency's Adams County office.

In one of the nominations, Woerner was described as "computer tech, supply manager, copy person, scheduler, receptionist, new staff trainer and the first person many people see when they stop into the office." She was instrumental in seeing the office through a move earlier this year and "she always has a smiling face and willingly stops what she's doing to help you out."

Another nominator said, "In every agency, there is a group of people who provide a strong backbone to keep everything going smoothly and Kellie is definitely a part of the spine."

The Karen A. Rohaly Award was established after the death of Karen A. Rohaly, Lutheran Home Care & Hospice's first administrator. Rohaly led the agency for nine years, and was a visionary who defined the organization's mission.

The award is presented annually to the employee who best upholds the ideals set by the work of Rohaly. Nominations are made by co-workers.
