Hagerstown council OK's Blues Fest budget

November 25, 2009

HAGERSTOWN -- The Hagerstown City Council on Tuesday voted to approve the 2010 Western Maryland Blues Fest budget.

Carl Disque, the festival's executive chairman, last week presented a tentative budget of revenue and expenses so the council this week could approve the 2010 event.

According to the proposed budget, the 2010 event will cost about $246,000 and bring in more than $247,000. A large portion of the expenses -- $60,000 -- will be paid to the artists performing at the festival, according to documents distributed to the media.
