Martinsburg convenience store robbed by masked man

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A man wearing a green goblin mask robbed the 7-Eleven convenience store at 846 E. Moler Ave. in Martinsburg early Wednesday, police said.

Authorities are looking for a white male about 6 feet tall with a stocky build, according to a news release by Martinsburg Police Department Detective J.D. Luciano.

Along with the mask, which had hair on it, the suspect was wearing a tan jacket and gray hoodie when he robbed the business about 1:30 a.m., according to the announcement.

A clerk told police that the suspect approached her, motioned as if he had a firearm and ordered her to give him all the money in the register, according to the news release.

No weapon was displayed but the clerk cooperated. The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and reportedly traveled west on Moler Avenue on foot, the release said.

An attempt by police to track the suspect with the Martinsburg Police Department's K-9 was unsuccessful, according to the news release.
