Roberts receives religious emblem award from church

November 25, 2009

The Religious Emblem Program is designed for Scouts from Cub Scout to Venture Crews to help individuals to develop their religious beliefs.

There are more than 40 emblems for many different religious institutions. The youth work in many different avenues from studies, prayer life and service to others.

Adults are given the emblem by their church after 10 years of service to the youth in their church and community. The recipients are nominated by their church and usually only two are presented by the church councils per year.

David Roberts, charter organization representative for local Pack 36 and Troop 136, was honored Sept. 27 at the Church of the Holy Trinity with the God and Service Religious Emblem. The emblem was presented by the United Church of Christ.
