November 24, 2009

Dynamite and explosive devices were found Monday morning inside an old car parked on a property in the 15000 block of Dellinger Road in Williamsport, according to Maryland State Fire Marshal Deputy Joseph G. Zurolo.

The car was parked in a detatched garage on 36 acres, and members of the fire marshal's office bomb squad were alerted to the presence of the explosives when a relative of the former resident discovered the material while cleaning, the fire marshal said in a prepared release.

Bomb techinicians safely removed and disposed of about 60 pounds of dynamite and 100 electric detonators, the release said.

The former property owner had used the materials in his construction business, the release said.
