HCC men win consolation game

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Demetrus Richardson scored 18 points on Sunday to lead Hagerstown Community College to a 90-83 victory over Lakeland (Ohio) Community College in the Pavia Tournament's consolation game.

Richardson was named to the all-tournament team.

Donte Stuckey had 15 points and K'yan Andrews and Nagee White each added 14 points to help pace the Hawks (2-3) balanced attack. HCC trailed 41-40 at the half.

The Hawks lost to host Monroe College 96-82 in the tournament opener on Saturday.

Central State 85, Shepherd 73

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Central State had five players in double figures en route to a win over Shepherd University at the Clarion Hotel Tipoff Classic on Sunday.

Wesley Jones led the Marauders with 21 points. Shepherd (0-2) was led by senior guard Tyrone Roach, who tied Jones for game-high scoring honors with 21 points.
