The Groves

William "Bob" and Elaine Grove of Hagerstown celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 3, 2009, at a surprise dinner party at the Log Cabin Inn in Hancock, hosted by their son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Jackie Grove. In attendance were their daughter, Deborah and son-in-law Robert Shank; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and other family members.

The Groves were married Oct. 1, 1949, at the First Baptist Church in Hagerstown.

Mr. Grove retired in 1992 from Home Mutual Life Insurance Co., after 27 years of service. In his earlier years. he worked at West End Feed and Supply and was also an owner/trainer of thoroughbred race horses.

Mrs. Grove worked at Eyerly's and retired in 1994 from Hagerstown Trust after more than 31 years of service.

The Williamses

Kim and Tim Williams were honored at a surprise 25th anniversary party on Aug. 29, 2009, at the home of Brian and Erica Shaw of Hagerstown. They were married on Aug. 18, 1984, at Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown by the Rev. Charles Weber.


Mr. Williams is employed by the City of Hagerstown, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Williams of Warfordsburg, Pa.

Mrs. Williams is employed as a dental hygienist by Dr. Luther Knight, and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ragan Shaw of Hagerstown.

They have two children, a son, Austin Williams and a daughter, Devin Williams.
