Intersection of Church and Jonathan streets temporarily closed

November 19, 2009

Work crews from Charles E. Brake Co. and the City of Hagerstown's Water Department will begin work on final utility tie-ins at the intersection of Church and Jonathan streets starting Monday at 7 a.m., weather permitting, according to a City of Hagerstown press release.

Because the project will require extensive excavation work, the intersection of Church and Jonathan streets will be closed to all traffic, according to the release.

Motorists approaching the intersection will be forced to detour around the work zone using other city streets. A full detour plan will be implemented to direct traffic around the work area, according to the release.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the intersection once work begins, according to the release.

The city expects the intersection to be closed until about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the release.

For more information, call the City of Hagerstown's Department of Engineering and Code Administration at 301-739-8577, ext. 125.
