Two face drug charges following Frederick traffic stop



FREDERICK, Md. -- Two people were charged Tuesday following a traffic stop on Holliday Drive near Md. 355, according to a Frederick County Sheriff's Office press release.

Sarah E. Turlik, 24, of Frederick, was charged with driving on a suspended license, driving without a license, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, deputies said.

Lawrence D. Loflin, 38, of Prospect, Va., was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, deputies said.

Deputy 1st Class Ronald DeMent stopped the vehicle on Holliday Drive on Tuesday at 1:41 a.m., deputies said. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and failure to obey a traffic control device, deputies said.

DeMent found a syringe needle inside the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was found during a search of the vehicle, and a plastic bag of suspected heroin was found during a search of Loflin, deputies said.

Turlik and Loflin were taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center's central booking unit, deputies said.
