CLEAR SPRING, Md. - Elton Berry Weber, 89, of Clear Spring, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born Oct. 14, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Milton Berry and June Shewbridge Doub.

She was a 1938 graduate of Hagerstown High School and received a B.S. from the Maryland Art Institute in Baltimore, Md.

Elton was a homemaker and a member of the Blairs Valley First Church of God in Clear Spring, Md.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Arthur John Weber Sr., in 1978.

She is survived by a daughter, Merry W. Gehr of Clear Spring; a son, Adam P. Weber and his wife Mary Ann of Big Pool; a son, K. Peter Weber and his wife Ann of Mill Hall, Pa.; a sister, Suzanne H. Fairchild of Winter Haven, Fla.; two granddaughters, Gretchen Richardson of Clear Spring and Katie Gehr-Edwards of Baltimore; four grandsons, Thomas Weber of Clear Spring, Joseph Weber of Parkville, Md., Adam T. Weber of Hagerstown and Aaron Weber of Big Pool; and eight great-grandchildren.


In addition to her parents and husband, Elton was preceeded in death by a son, Arthur J. Weber Jr.; a sister, June B. Barnes; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, MD 21795 with the Rev. Robert Stone officiating.

Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, Md.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of friends and family, the funeral home will be open on Wednesday after 1 p.m.
