The Hagerstown Trust Division of The Columbia Bank recently donated $287.40 each to the Fairplay Volunteer Fire Co. and the Volunteer Fire Co. of Halfway.
The money was raised through fees from customers using the bank's "Self-Serve" coin-counting machines.
The fee for use of the coin-counting machines is 6 percent, with all proceeds donated to a different local charity each month.
To date, $7,902.64 has been donated to local charities from the use of the coin machines.
