Paramount Elementary students to participate in science event

November 16, 2009

On Thursday, students at Paramount Elementary School will watch the Maryland Science Center presentation of "Brain Benders: Exciting Scientific Phenomenon."

The students will see a light bulb balance without breaking, see a straw thrust through a potato and a pencil propelled through a solid block of wood without breaking the point.

No, it is not magic, it's science. The students will witness unique scientific events that boggle the mind and challenge their sense of logic. They will learn how the laws of physics and the scientific method influence their everyday actions.

Paramount's PTA is funding the event. On Thursday evening, the students are invited to come back to school with their families to enjoy Science Night - an event filled with fun and exciting mind-bending activities.
