Man killed in motorcycle accident on U.S. 30 in Pa.

FORT LOUDON, Pa. -- A 51-year-old Adams County, Pa., man was killed following a motorcycle accident Sunday on U.S. 30, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

Police said Jed Alan Emig of Abbottstown, Pa., tried to pass another vehicle when traveling east on U.S. 30 near Pa. 75 in Peters Township in Franklin County.

Emig lost control of the 2003 Harley-Davidson Electra-Glide on a curve and crashed off the side of the road at 2:30 p.m., police said.

Franklin County (Pa.) Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner pronounced Emig dead at the scene.

Emig was not wearing a helmet, police said in the release.
