HALFWAY - Jack Allen Shillingberg, 77, of Halfway, Md., died on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 14, 1931, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of the late Samuel Johnson and Eliza Ellen Booth Shillingberg.He retired from Pangborn Corp. after 34 years.
He played in various bands for 40 years.
He was a very active member of Valley Grace Brethren Church and served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Dee McCollam Shillingberg; three daughters, Barbara Gentry of Powell, Tenn., Donna Sue Nye of Brook Park, Ohio, and Janet Louise Surratt of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sons, Allen Shillingberg and Jack Howard Shillingberg, both of Clear Spring, Md.; three sisters, Ruth Shillingburg, Nancy Brown and Patricia Domer, all of Hagerstown; three brothers, Giles Shillingberg and James Shillingberg, both of Hagerstown, and Donald Shillingberg of Boonsboro, Md.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
