Harpers Ferry man killed in W.Va. 51 crash near club

November 11, 2009

MIDDLEWAY, W.Va. -- A 69-year-old Harpers Ferry, W.Va., man was killed Wednesday night when the Toyota Camry he was driving east on W.Va. 51 crossed the center line and collided with a westbound Dodge Durango near Images nightclub, according to a Jefferson County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

It is not clear what caused the driver of the Toyota to cross the center line in the 6:54 p.m. crash, Sgt. Ron Fletcher said.

Fletcher said he could not release the name of the man killed in the accident Wednesday night because he was still notifying the man's family members.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Fletcher said.

The driver of the Dodge Durango, Nikisha Williams, 32, was taken to City Hospital in Martinsburg with injuries that were not life-threatening, Fletcher said.
