Farewell, flip-flops

It's November so get those feet covered (and other fashion advice)

It's November so get those feet covered (and other fashion advice)

In my last article, we looked at ways to spruce up your wardrobe and give it some flair.

Every other week, I will post what's in and what's out so you can be sure to have the latest and greatest looks and be in style.

What's in: Layered jewelry. For me, jewelry is a must have for every outfit, whether it be a bracelet, necklace or whatever.

I think wearing jewelry spruces up an outfit and gives it some style. Although, something really simple may not give it enough flair. Try layering a couple of bracelets or necklaces to create a look that uniquely your own. I mean, do you really think that another girl will have the exact same three necklaces that you have on?

What's out: Flip-flops. OK, I know that flip-flops are really cute and go with almost everything, but we are in November and 50-degree weather and colder is not the time to be wearing them.

Even though you may think they are the only shoes that match what you have on, try again.

At this point in the year, shoes that are in-style are clogs, boots and occasionally flats. They give off the same great style without making your toes freeze.

So pack those flips-flops away for the winter and bring them back out when you are ready to hit the beach.

Fashion Tip No. 2: Don't overdo your outfit with too many patterns. Polka dots and stripes do not go together at all. If you are looking to get creative wear a plain top with patterned bottoms, and then add some fun jewelry.
