Plaque would honor Pa. firm's military veterans

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Johnson Controls Inc./Frick of Waynesboro & UAW Local 1296 Veterans Committee would like to honor employees - past and present - who have served the United States in the armed forces.

The goal is to create an Honor Roll Plaque engraved with the names of area veterans for display in Frick's main office.

All veteran employees, past and present, are eligible to be included, regardless of union affiliation. If you are a veteran, or know someone who is, provide the human resources department with the name, branch of service, rank and dates of service.

All responses must be mailed directly to JCI-Frick, Attn: Human Resources-Veterans Outreach, 100 C.V. Ave, Waynesboro, PA 17268. The company asks that phone numbers be included with the responses.


Chambersburg Veterans Day parade, service Wednesday

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Cumberland Valley Twenty-one Day Retreat Organization will sponsor a Veterans Day parade on Wednesday with Letterkenny Army Depot Commander Col. Cheri A. Provancha as the main speaker.

Participants are asked to form at 9:45 a.m. on Fifth Avenue and Lincoln Way East. The parade will then move west to the Chambersburg square. The program is expected to begin at 11 a.m.

Korean War veteran George Gearhart is the honorary parade marshal.

In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the Chambersburg American Legion Post 46, 755 Philadelphia Ave.

The public is invited to both events.
