The Suffecools

Bill and Rosalyn Suffecool of Boonsboro were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary, Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, with a buffet dinner at Dutch's Daughter in Frederick, Md. The event was given by their children, Sheila Nichols and husband, Eric, of Frederick, and their son, Kevin Suffecool of Elkridge, Md. One hundred five family members and friends attended the celebration.

The couple's granddaughter, Kelli Suffecool of Elkridge was greeter, program and guest book attendant.

Sheila and Kevin presided over the event which consisted of an anniversary toast, the story of their parents' life together, a "through the years" DVD presentation and another DVD, which included the voices of their vows and the minister's prayer from the original recording tape of their wedding ceremony. A letter was read that their father had written their mother three days before their wedding. Kevin sang three solos throughout the program.

The Suffecools were married Saturday, Sept. 19, 1959, at Calvary Temple, Williamsport by the Rev. Vernon W. Miles, now deceased.


Mrs. Suffecool is the daughter of the late George "Franklin" and Mabel (Howell) Nalley. Mr. Suffecool is the son of the late Walter and Margaret Suffecool.

Mr. Suffecool served in the U.S. military for two years, and was stationed in Germany. He retired from AT&T, formerly Western Electric, in 1992 as an installation technician after 37 years of service. Mrs. Suffecool was employed in various part-time positions.

An anniversary cruise is scheduled for February.

The Boswells

Richard and Beulah Boswell of Clear Spring celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 22, 2009, at the Plaza Hotel with a dinner given by their children, Vickie and Jeff Horst, Rick and Melissa Boswell, and Steven and Dena Boswell. Their six grandchildren, and one great-grandson, as well as other family and friends were also in attendance.

The Boswells also vacationed in New Hampshire to celebrate their anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Boswell were married Sept. 12, 1959, at Hopeful Baptist Church in Montpelier, Va., by the Rev. Edgar Burkholder.

Mr. Boswell is retired from Expedited Services Inc. Mrs. Boswell is a homemaker.

The Schelles

Charles and Linda Schelle of Clear Spring celebrated their 40th anniversary on Aug. 9, 2009, at a surprise party at Camp Harding in Pectonville.

The Schelles were married Aug. 9, 1969, at St. Paul's Reformed Church, in Clear Spring.

Family celebrated with the couple during the picnic-style party, which was hosted by daughters Crystal Schelle, Wendy Schelle, Spring Foltz and her husband, Paul, and son Charles Schelle.

Mr. Schelle is a retired carpenter and taxidermist. Mrs. Schelle is employed at First Data Services as a Wells Fargo adviser.
