Max Larry Powell, 54, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Md.

Born May 9, 1955, he was the son of the late Rhoda F. Powell and Max Leroy Powell.

He was a 1973 graduate of Williamsport High School and was employed at Eastalco in Frederick, Md., for over 20 years. He was also a member of United Steelworkers, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2462, AMVETS Post 10 and Williamsport Red Men, Conococheague Tribe 84.

He is survived by daughters Autumn Powell-Allman of Las Vegas, Nev., and Tasha Powell-Dattilio of Hagerstown, Md.; brother, Charles Hadley Jr. of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and sister, Jean Betts of Greencastle, Pa.


Larry was a loving father and enjoyed fishing the Potomac River, riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and spending time with his daughters and friends.

Family, friends and friends of family are invited to gather in honor and celebration of his life on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the residence of Tasha Powell at 10907 Holly Terrace, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Max Larry Powell to Johns Hopkins University in support of liver cancer research.
