Legion to host annual wreath laying



Antietam 236 American Legion family will host its annual Veterans Day wreath laying ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 in Sharpsburg Town Square.

The program will feature the Base Honor Guard of the 167th Airlift Wing from Martinsburg, W.Va., the Saint James School Choir and guest speaker Park Ranger Keith Snyder of Antietam National Battlefield. Salem Methodist to host Thanksgiving dinner



Salem Methodist Church, 25 S. Main St., Keedysville, will host a free Thanksgiving dinner Sunday, Nov. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. The public is invited.

Authors to share Sharpsburg book



Authors Vernell and Tim Doyle will share their newly published book "Images of America, Sharpsburg" Thursday, Nov. 12, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sharpsburg Library. Benevola Methodist to hold dinner



Benevola United Methodist Church, on Benevola Church Road just off of Alternate U.S. 40 between Funkstown and Boonsboro, will hold an oyster, turkey and ham dinner served family style Saturday. Tickets cost $14 for adults and $6 for those ages 10 and younger. The menu includes oysters, ham, turkey, corn, bread, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, applesauce, green beans, sauerkraut, desserts and drinks.
