County animal shelter in need of items

The Humane Society of Washington County is running low on several items used to care for homeless animals. The shelter is in need of Pedigree Adult Dog Food, large bath towels and blankets.

Donations can be dropped off in the shelter's lobby Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All donations are tax deductible and donors will receive an in-kind donation form for tax purposes.

Fundraiser to benefit Humane Society

Central Dawgma and The Dawg Wash, Hagerstown's self-serve dog wash and all natural pet food store, will host an adoption event for the Humane Society of Washington County Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.


The event will feature adoptable pets, music and the opportunity to have a caricature made of your pet.

Ashley Pennesi, local artist and owner of Off the Leash Pet Portraits, will be on hand to create caricatures of pets.
