Information sought on hit-and-run

Maryland State Police on Friday were looking for someone wanted in connection with a hit-and-run Halloween night.

At 9:07 p.m. on Oct. 31, a family was traveling west on U.S. 40 in the area of St. Paul Road when a second vehicle crossed the center line of the divided roadway, troopers said in a news release Friday.

The impact broke the rear axle of the family's van, leaving the vehicle sideways in the middle of the road without any lights, troopers said. No one in the van was injured.

The second vehicle continued into Sunshine Gas Station, colliding with a barrel and cinder blocks, Maryland State Police said.

The driver of the second vehicle fled on foot, troopers said.

Troopers described the second vehicle as a 1993 green Ford Ranger with Maryland plates 60W320.

Anyone with information, may call police at 301-739-2101.
