Santa arrives

I know, I can hardly believe it myself, but Santa Claus will arrive in Halfway this weekend. Santa will make an appearance at Valley Mall Saturday at center court. Falling snowflakes and a train ride bringing Santa to town are planned, starting at 9:45 a.m.

Those children who visit with Santa on Saturday will receive a free gift. For more information, call the mall customer service center at 301-582-0700.

The Jonathan Hager House and Museum will hold Fall Family Fun Days on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15. The event will include tours of the Hager House, a scavenger hunt and colonial craft making. Family admission costs $5.

Blue Band says thanks

The Williamsport High School Blue Band would like to thank the director, parents, families, Boosters, and the community at large for their continued support during the marching band season.

The band is honored to be invited to two championships this weekend. The band will participate in the U.S. Scholastic Band Association's National Championships at the U.S. Naval Academy Stadium in Annapolis on Saturday and will also perform Sunday in the Tournament of Bands' Atlantic Coast Championships at the Hersheypark Arena in Hershey, Pa.
