Karl William Itnyre, 54, of Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md.

Born Nov. 21, 1954, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of Jonas William Itnyre of Hagerstown and the late Cherie F. (Kline) Itnyre. He was the stepson of Jaumie L. (Kline) Itnyre of Hagerstown. He was the husband of Tammi Lynn (Cauffman) Itnyre of Hagerstown, Md., whom he married June 26, 1994.

Karl graduated from North High School, Hagerstown, class of 1972. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1975. Karl was currently employed as a correctional officer at Maryland Correctional Institution for 27 years. He was a 15-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 378, Hagerstown.

In addition to his wife and parents, Karl is survived by one son, Jeremiah W. Itnyre; one daughter, Sarah V. and husband, Joshua L. Baker; one brother, Eric W. and wife Jeannine Itnyre; all of Hagerstown; one sister, Dana and husband, Bret Wollaston of Greencastle, Pa.; several nieces, nephews and his kittens, Luci and Tabby. He was also expecting his first grandson, Camden Vincent Baker.


The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Randy A. Buchman will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at the funeral home with the Elks memorial service at 7:30 p.m.
